The Crazy Mountains: Part 9

After returning from our Wind River/Bighorn Mountains Trip on the 7th of October, we pretty much stayed around our home for the rest of the year, and as it turned out, due to the Covid-19 virus, for most of 2020 as well. There were a few exceptions, however, and twice during the last week in October, I drove down I-90 with the express purpose of viewing the mountains and getting some photos before the winter snows set in. The 24th and 25th of October were two such days.

These pictures were from October 24, 2019.

Coming up on one of my favorite places, mile marker 377.

These images are from October 25, 2019.

Same as before. The mile marker 377 area of I-90 shortly before you reach Big Timber, Montana.
Looking at the Crazies from the west side.
One of my favorite spots. This is to the west of the Crazy Mountains. This is mile marker 31 on US Highway 89. Just 31 miles from I-90, you can see beautiful mountain ranges from this spot. Looking to the south (actually on the other side of I-90) you see the Absaroka Mountains. To the west, the mountains named for famed mountain man Jim Bridger rise up over 9,000 feet. And looking to the east, we see the Crazies.
I actually stopped here on the way back from mile marker 31. The Thunder Jack statue is about 25 miles from the interstate.

Those are the Crazies behind Thunder Jack.
